Adjusting the Pace

I opened this blog about two months ago. I’d just committed to a new, non-blog writing project, and thought switching to a related blog topic would hit two birds with one stone. I’d become familiar with my larger project while still producing valuable articles.

My goal is to present a thoughtful and unique perspective. I want my posts to have depth, and I’m still learning to go deep with few words. Two weeks per post was the fastest I found I could write on my former blog, and the slowest I would tolerate. Fortunately, I could research quickly to keep up with the need for content.

Girl Waiting at ClockI wasn’t prepared for the research this blog on story would require. Not only does it take time to choose the next story I want to cover; I look over each story multiple times so my opinions will be accurate and well thought-out. The stories I’ve covered so far have been short: a novella, a 1,730-word short story, or a movie. I’d like to cover longer subjects too: novels, TV series, videogames, news, etc. Researching these broader subjects requires time I don’t have.

I need to dedicate my time to my highest priority, the project that inspired me to begin this blog. This means I’ll be posting to Worlds Viewed as I find time, instead of every two weeks as I’ve been doing. I hope you’ve enjoyed the blog so far and continue to enjoy my writing in the future.
